Plane Dai Making Seminar

Join us for a two day plane making seminar with master plane-maker Inomoto-san. Mr. Inomoto has been making planes in Japan for 55 years. His skills are incredible. He is going to lead us through the plane making process, and everyone who participates will make a Japanese hand plane to take home. We will provide dai material that is first quality Japanese white oak (Shiro-Gashi). Participants can bring their own plane iron or purchase one from us.

Anyone who is signed up for the seminar will receive a 10% discount on any tools purchased between sign-up and the end of the seminar.

We will begin at 8:00 Saturday morning on Octover 25, and we will finish up at 5:00 on the next day. We will provide a Japanese "BENTO" lunch both days. Please let us know if you are a vegetarian.

Course fee will be $490 USD (we will need a $200 USD deposit on sign-up, and final payment by October 15th). Participation is limited to 15 people.

ACCOMMODATIONS

We have many Inns and bed an breakfasts available in the area. The most reasonable and closest is the Boggastowe Farm, a five minute walk down the road. Nancy Richy has two very nice rooms that rent for $75 for single occupancy and $90 for double occupancy per night, with a FULL breakfast. That's $45 per night if you share with a friend! She has only two rooms so hurry. The Stage Coach Inn in Groton, MA has 17 rooms (less than 10 minutes by car) and they are giving us special rates for our seminar of $75 and $95 for single and double occupancy per night. They have dinning facilities. We have two formal Hotels, the Westford Regency in Westford and the Sheraton in Nashua. They are both 20 minutes away and are about $110 per night. There are several other B&Bs close by and I will help you out with those as the need arises. I will make several trips to Boston Logan airport and some pick up and drop off at the Stage Coach Inn so, you may not have to rent a car.
